There are a lot of intricate details in this project from the bespoke joinery to the stripping back of decades of paint on the window frames to reveal the original timber finish.

Over the last year or so, there has been a hospitality influence coming into the office design market. Some companies have achieved this extremely well and some maybe not so good. There is a fine line between working in an office inspired by a hotel or bar, and working in an office that essentially is a bar……

So, what are your fears when it comes to renovating or upgrading your home, besides the financial aspect of course? One of the biggest things that we find among our clients is the use of colour. Well that just flew by, we are onto the last week in our Home Renovation series and this week are looking at the home office.
More and more of us are spending time working from home, whether we are trying to put in a few extra hours or skip the rush hour commute, it is starting to become a necessary home requirement.
If you have the space then I would highly recommend a dedicated work space, as you can just shut the door and get into the zone. Equally its nice to be able to shut the door and leave the work in there.

Week 2: The Kitchen
All the time I hear people saying that they want to go for a neutral kitchen because they are afraid that they will tire of it if they opt for a colour. I can totally understand this and lets face it, if and when you decide to change your kitchen, its a pretty big investment. However, your kitchen can still have lots of interest even if you do decide to stay neutral.

Having worked with a large number of SME’s over the last few years we have seen a big uptake in the requirement for innovation spaces within the workplace. Now you might think that such a room would only be used by tech companies or creative agencies, but that’s not the case at all. Semi-state and more corporate companies are starting to see the benefit of having a space within their own office that allows their employees to break from the standard boardroom or meeting room and have a space that is conducive to creative thinking and innovation.

Do you know what Biophilic Design is and is your office design embracing it? If I was to hazard a guess, I would say that only a very small percentage of offices are incorporating biophilic design and this needs to change.
